Please send an email with some sample images to curator@skywaygallery.org. Make sure to include a short description of your exhibition and your preferred date.
We will email you to let you know if your application is successful. If so, we will send you a contract to secure the booking, along with a request for a 20% non-refundable deposit.
Skyway Gallery is a shared public space and therefore has guidelines as to what can be exhibited. All decisions regarding the gallery are at the discretion of the curator.
The gallery costs £235 per week to hire with a minimum 2 week hire period. A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking. A sales commission fee is applied to all works sold whilst on exhibition at the gallery. The commission is 15% – 30%
In addition to the wall space the gallery has it’s own picture hanging system. We also have a number of floor standing plinths and covered showcases.
Once your exhibition is booked in we will market your exhibition through our instagram. We’ll also add it to our Skyway Gallery website. Please supply some good quality images that best represent the exhibition and about 100 to 150 words about your exhibition.
The hire fee includes the curator’s art direction in planning and hanging your exhibition.
Any additional marketing such as poster production, invitations, brochures, press releases and advertising are the responsibility of the hirer. We can advise on these matters and provide you with the Skyway Gallery logo.
Artists and exhibitors are responsible for insuring their own work whilst on display at the gallery.
For pictures to be hung on our STAS hanging system, the frames must have D-rings securely attached to the back.
Each artwork should be clearly labelled on the rear of the work with name of artist and name of the work. (please don’t use post-it notes for this!)
Please ensure that every piece of work has a clear display label with information, including the title, medium, price, and the artist’s name.
We would recommend that artists write a bit about themselves and what motivates them to make art.
IMPORTANT: Exhibitors must use specific reusable glue dots to prevent damage to the walls.
